Hi all
Been a bit slack as meant to pop on before this to say hello, and thank you for the lovely going away party and gift. :)
All settled in down herein a beautiful house on Norfolk Bay down towards Port Arthur. Weather has been pretty good, just isolated chilly and blustery days.
Havent had the scope out yet, but have a nice little deck facing north/east and west. Skies are nice and dark, though I do have the glow of Hobart to the west. Really must pop out for a look, but doesnt get dark until well after 9pm!! Daylight saving of course too. A wee bit chilly out too at that hour.
As many are aware on our facebook site, I have seen and photographed my first aurora!! I could see the beams naked eye and the glow, but the DSLR captured it brilliantly. It wasnt a strong aurora, so looking forward to some good flares/CME. Am very lucky as have a south facing glass door in my bedroom, so can set up away from the elements and happily snap away. Not far from the water though, so will head down for my next aurora for the reflection photo.
Still organising the house, with things bundled into corners still. A beautiful garden which I am loving, and a very large lawn, so waiting for my first visitors next week to help put the lawnmower together!!
Looks like its heating up, up there, I wont miss it at all, though will miss the Townsville Winter next year, while I shiver down here.
Had a bit of a tour around Hobart and up Mt Wellington 2 weeks ago, and there was snow, what a delight!!!
Hope all is OK, and the funds for the Obs are doing well.
Will miss our Donnington nights - we always have fun no matter where we set up - has been Alligator Creek, Ross River Dam, Ace aerodrome, and Garys's place at Bluewater - always funny socialable nights with some wonderful objects seen.
Thank you all for the wonderful times, and am sure I will catch a few of you over the next year. Pop in for a coffee and chat Dave and Eileen, and whoever else is down this way.
Yet to spend the voucher ...... browsed Steve's site last week, but nothing jumped out at me. Will have another look, perhaps time for another lovely EP.

A few piccies now ;) My Aurora My front yard Dolphin out the front and driving up Mt Wellinton.
